Giving up your pet?

We are proud to announce that
Edgar Allan Poe Elementary School's Service Over Self Club

of Arlington Heights, IL is working to help Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue through a variety of service projects.

We would like to thank the students of Poe's S.O.S. for their dedication and interest in giving back to the community!

Des is just one of many dogs who needs a story of her very own!
Calling all Poe School S.O.S. members!

Poe School's Animal Expo
 "Every Dog Needs A Story"
Drawing and Writing Contest

If you have a pet, you might have some very funny or touching stories about your animal.  In most homes, animals are like another member of the family.  And they should be!  Sometimes, when Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue gets a call to help a dog, we don't have very much information about that animal.  We may not know anything about the kind of life it had before it came to our rescue organization!  And although we love our dogs, we can't always guess what they might be thinking.  You can help us, because we believe . . .
 Every dog needs a story.
Draw a picture and write a creative story about one of our "dogs for adoption."  You can write about what the dog's life was like before it was rescued, the adventures it had, what it is thinking, or the new family it may find.
First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded for the following categories . . .

Best Imagination
Best "Happy Ending"
Funniest Story
Greatest Care for Animals
