with all the postings each week, urgents, held over, sad updates, more sad updates like the GRIFFIN dogs who got put down after appeal after appeal, I think we MUST take and make time to CELEBRATE and be JOYFUL for these precious dogs who made it "over the wall" ,,,, in memory of the ones who didnt make it or who wont make it out,,,from beyond RAINBOW BRIDGE,  the ones now who have  passed on,  are happy these did make it,,,    I remember seeing their photos on the SUMMERVILLE postings when they werent safe and today, to have the honor of meeting, transporting them and experiencing their little happy spirits, it is essential to pass this on, as well, to offset the sad postings,,, these little dogs were so happy and pleasant,,,,, I commend EVERYONE whose work saved them,,, Suzanne the volunteer, Debb one of the posting agents, Christy the transport coordinator , Pat  volunteer who overnighted them and a  driver along the way, and FORTUNATE POOCHES in Chicago ILLINOIS area, who took them all in !!!!!!!!!!!

sincerely,

Compassion means action!

Do not let the fact that things are not made for you, that conditions are not
as they should be, stop you.  Go on anyway.

This Beagle was due to be euthanized at Franklin County simply because she was not able to move and lack of space. She was treated by our vet for HW and her broken Pelvis was attended to by our vet. She is now recovering. Please SPONSOR this BEAGLE--> Go to our Sponsor/Donate Button - we can only help these dogs with your help!
Adopted We are adorable brother and sister, who love to play.  If you could take us both home, we would love it.  Please stop by the shelter and see us.  You will fall in love!
Adopted
These 4 puppies were at Franklin County, Il. and were euthanized, by no fault of their own. We were going to rescue them; however, they were already euthanized. How much space does a crate with 4 puppies take? Because these puppies (and other dogs) have touched our hearts deeply, we have developed the "Haristo Life Foundation," in the name of these 4 puppies. If you would like to support this foundation, send an e-mail message to info@fortunatelabrescue.org.
Neglected and taken to a kill facility
Adopted as a puppy from a kill shelter, he grew and was no longer cute. A disposable society, too busy to realize the real value of life, and good care, he was another victim! And yet, a real wake up call has not occured, the huge numbers of animals put to death each year, is just a number! No real lives behind that number....fast food, a robotic way of life, the same pattern...and just an increase in the animals each year that get killed! Poor temperament evaluations, poor methods, and a uniform, that gives these artificial walking characters the only power! that of killing speechless animals!

The "Rescue Me" program is a program developed by Llyssa and her dog, named Boo.

Lexy, a yellow lab was adopted as part of this program.

Neville, a chocolate lab was adopted as part of this program.

More dogs coming soon!

What is a rescue? This is a question people often ask us! A rescue is an organization which saves dogs or cats from facilities which practice "killing" by various methods. Many operations have popped up in the recent months that claim to be rescues, but in essence, they are puppy mill operations or entities which advertise for their own interest. Some questions you may want to ask . . .

1. How many dogs have you placed to date? When did the operation start? Are you a NFP corporation?

2. Do you spay and neuter all dogs/cats before the adoption process?

3. Where do you get your animals from? May we call the facilities to verify that the pet came from the Animal Control facility as stated in the documentation? All of the reputable rescues have documentation in regards to the intake details of the dog. Please ask for this documentation! We do not want to promote "rescue" puppy mills! Once the information is provided to you, call the facility and ask if this organization accepted 5-6-7 puppies from their facility.

4. Observe the web site trend of the rescue/shelter organization. Do they just have puppies?
